Once a user selects a catalog item (either via smart search or the inventory table), they are taken to the Catalog Item Detail Page, where all relevant data about the selected inventory item is clearly organized into structured panels.

Overview

This page provides a full profile of the selected catalog item, including:

Item Details

  • WDC Part Number: Unique identifier auto-generated at catalog item creation.

  • Master Item: Template from which the catalog item inherits core attributes.

  • Classification and UOM: Inherited from the Master Item, these fields define how the item is treated in the system.

  • Fair Market Value (FMV): The estimated current value of the item, which is critical for reporting and total inventory valuation.

  • Refurbishability: Indicates whether the item can be refurbished.

Additional Specifications

This section includes any user-defined custom fields such as:

  • Manufacturer

  • Model

  • Color

  • VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)

  • Drivetrain

  • Doors

  • Sunroof (or other attributes as applicable)

These fields are populated at the time of catalog item creation or during editing.

Item Images

Up to five images can be attached to a catalog item. These are useful for quickly identifying physical assets and ensuring alignment with real-world items.

Storage Locations

This section shows:

  • Facility name

  • Whether the item is in use

  • The storage location (if assigned)

  • Item condition (A through E, influencing value)

  • Quantity at that facility

  • Total item value at that location

This allows users to instantly see where the item resides and its financial impact per location.

Transaction History

Every movement involving this catalog item—such as purchases, adjustments, sales, or scraps—is logged here. Each record includes:

  • Date

  • Quantity moved

  • Type of transaction

  • Source and destination

  • Condition at time of movement

  • Value of the transaction

  • Creator (who performed the action)

This provides full traceability and auditing capability for each catalog item.

Editing a Catalog Item

In the top-right corner of the detail page, you’ll find the Edit Item button. This opens a panel where certain fields can be updated.

✅ Editable Fields:

  • Fair Market Value: Keep this updated to ensure reports reflect accurate asset values.

  • Refurbishability toggle (only if not inherited)

  • Images (can add/remove)

  • Additional Data Fields such as:

    • Manufacturer

    • Model

    • VIN

    • Drivetrain

    • Custom fields (Color, Doors, etc.)

⛔ Non-Editable Fields:

Once a catalog item is created, the following fields cannot be changed:

  • Master Item (template used)

  • Catalog Item Name

  • WDC Number

  • Classification and UOM (these are locked from the master)

If any of these need to be changed, a new catalog item would need to be created under a different Master.

Print Label

Located in the top-right corner of every Catalog Item Detail Page, the Print Label button is a quick-access tool used to generate a standardized label for physical tagging of your inventory.

When clicked, it opens a label preview window formatted for 6x4 inch label or 3x2 inch label printers  (such as the Zebra ZT111), and displays a ready-to-print layout including the most essential identifying information.

?️ What’s Included on the Label:

? Top Section

  • Catalog Item Name (e.g., Thunderoil MX-V) in bold, easily scannable font.

? Left Panel: Item Information

  • Master Item Type (e.g., Truck)

  • Color

  • Doors

  • Drivetrain

  • Manufacturer

This makes it clear at a glance what the item is and includes key visual identifiers—especially helpful for equipment yards or warehousing.

? Right Panel: QR-Linked Details

  • WDC Catalog Number

  • UOM (Unit of Measure)

  • QR Code — When scanned, the QR code links directly to the item's page in the inventory system. This allows users to pull up the live data, view transaction history, location info, condition, or even initiate a new transaction on the spot.

? Pro Tip: Use your smartphone camera or QR code reader to instantly access the full record without navigating menus.

? Support & Branding Footer

The bottom of the label includes:

  • Technical Support Contact Info

  • Powered By Flaresoft logo

  • Woodland Development Corp logo

This ensures anyone interacting with the item—on or off-site—knows exactly who to contact if they encounter an issue, or need more info.

?️ Ready to Print

Once you click Print Label, you can send the layout directly to a connected label printer. The formatting is optimized for thermal label printing, ensuring clarity and durability in the field.
