In the "Visits" workflow, the job management process is critical for ensuring tasks are tracked and completed efficiently. Here's a breakdown of the process:

Job Overview

  • Visit Details: Each visit displays key information such as:
    • Zone (e.g., AF1-North-1)
    • Type of visit (e.g., Exception, Routine)
    • Priority level (e.g., Scheduled)
    • Work order type (e.g., Maintenance)
    • Claim status (Unclaimed or Claimed)

  • Claiming a Job:
    • When viewing an unclaimed job, users have the option to tap "Claim Visit".
    • Once claimed, the job status updates to "Claimed by you", preventing others from taking it.
    • This ensures accountability and clarity about who is responsible for the task.

Completing or Cancelling a Job

After claiming a visit:

  • Mark as Complete: This option is used when the task has been successfully completed.

  • Mark as Cancelled: If the task cannot be completed for valid reasons, this option is available.

Offline Mode Considerations

If cellular service is lost:

  • Users can still complete or cancel claimed jobs, and these updates will sync automatically once they regain service.

  • However, users cannot claim or unclaim jobs without service. This restriction makes it essential to claim visits before entering areas with limited connectivity.

Recommendations for Users:

  • Claim Jobs Early: Before heading into zones with weak or no cellular service, ensure all required jobs for the day are claimed.

  • Add Detailed Comments: Whether completing or cancelling a job, provide clear and concise comments to maintain proper documentation.

  • Sync Changes Regularly: When back in service, use the "Sync Changes" button to ensure the app updates all job statuses and records.

By following these guidelines, users can effectively manage their tasks while minimizing disruptions caused by connectivity issues.
