Overview

The Monthly Power Bill Report is designed to provide a detailed breakdown of power consumption and costs for a specified month. Below are the key columns included in the report and their descriptions:

  • period: The month for which the power bill is generated.
  • saskpower_child_account: The unique SaskPower account number for the sub-account within SaskPower's systems. It remains consistent for a given account.
  • meter_number: The SaskPower meter number. This can change if a meter is replaced at the site.
  • service_address: The address on file with SaskPower for the meter.
  • location: The physical location for the facility.
  • associated_site_count: The total number of facilities linked to the SaskPower account.
  • site_allocation_factor: This is used to determine what portion of the SaskPower account bill will allocated to the facility.
  • total_child_account_allocation: This should always equal 1. If it is more than 1, the power bill will be overcharged; if less, the power bill will be undercharged. 
  • cost_center: The cost center associated with the facility.
  • total_consumption_kwh: The total power consumption in kilowatt-hours.
  • meter_total_basic_charge: The basic charge for the meter. NOTE: This is "n/a" because currently it is aggregated into the meter_total_energy_charge column.
  • meter_total_energy_charge: The total energy charge for the meter.
  • meter_total_demand_charge: The total demand charge for the meter.
  • meter_total_carbon_charge: The total carbon charge for the meter.
  • meter_total_other_charge: Any other charges associated with the meter.
  • meter_total_lpe: The total LPE (Load Profile Extract) charge for the meter.
  • meter_total_pst: The total PST (Provincial Sales Tax) charge for the meter.
  • site_basic_charge: The basic charge allocated to the site. NOTE: This is "n/a" because currently it is aggregated into the site_total_energy_charge column.

  1. Ensure All Billing Data is Collected:

    • Verify that all billing data for the month has been collected. Ensure all sites that should have charges for the month do have charges. You can check this by filtering on gross/net totals.
  2. Sum of Gross Total Equals SaskPower Bill:

    • The sum of the gross total charges should match your SaskPower power bill. This ensures that the data set from SaskPower is complete and accurate.
